vintage musk-pink jug by Elischer Pottery of Melbourne
Father & son team, John & Wolly Elischer, began the Elischer Pottery studio in Sandringham in 1947, although John's ceramic designs were produced a year earlier by Huntly Pottery in Glenhuntly. A prolific designer & sculpture, Elischer senior was commissioned all over the world for his amazing larger than life-size sculptures - you know, the ones of generals riding giant horses - as well as busts & medals. His son continued the business until it was sold in 1987.
